Monsoon goes to the vet

Monsoon had her first vet appointment on Friday. She did good! They made me wait in the car with her until the room was ready since she's a pound puppy and I guess that means she's just toxic to everyone else, poor puppy. So when we finally get it they weigh her and she is a whopping 10lbs! Haha. She outbeat margarita by about 2 lbs. We had exam room 3 and saw the vet tech first. She thought Monsoon was super cute [duh] and said she was expecting a bigger dog since we said German Shepherd Mix. Then she said, " You look like you have some beagle in you". WHAT?

Anyways the vet came in next and said she looks fine now but to keep an eye on her because sometimes pound animals get sick 10 days later and show signs of distemper or kennel cough so we're waiting! She also said her belly looks swollen which could be from her surgery or worms so we're going to bring a stool sample on Monday.

When we got home I googled German Shepherd-Beagle mixes and we have a winner. Jason is so bummed! He wanted a big guard dog and now we're going to have a midsize howler, haha.

The last one isn't our Monsoon but she looks just like that puppy. However, Monsoon has really long legs and her ears are a little pointier. She also has the rear end of a German Shepherd, where it gets smaller and angles down. So we're really just going to have to wait for her to grow up so we can see what she'll look like!
