Meet: $5 living room

Well if you thought we weren't going to show you anymore rooms of our house, you were wrong! We were just wanting to finish them up a little more before showing you them. So here's our living room. It did cost more than $5 [paint, light fixture, tv we bought last year] but we finished it this week for only $5, remember the tv stand I got garage sailing? Let us see the transformation..

It start like this. Dad hooked up the tv to watch golf while we worked. Which everyone was stoked abougt, golf is just FASCINATING on tv. haha. Everything was dirty, disgusting and a mess.

Dad installed the fan.

Jason and I tested paint colors

The taping, painting, removing tape process began.More painting...
Paint was finished! This was about the time we realized how large the room was. Then the disgusting floor had to be cleaned. It took me 1.5 FULL days of cleaning. My fingers were totally swollen by the time I was finished and mom and jason had to come in and finish it for me.
Then it looked like this for awhile. The patio set my parents donated to us served as our first living room set for awhile.
Then our neighbor kindly gave us this set, and it stayed like this for a while.

Then we were given a couch, 2 chairs, end table, and 2 lamps by Jason's Aunt. We had to de-fur it first and then we rent a rugdoctor/bissell [home depot man gets offended when you call his bissell a rug doctor, yikes] to clean it.

It blew our minds how dirty the water was. I dare you to clean your couch like this and tell me what color the water was, I just have to know if everyone's is like that!!! Just have to know!!
Then real life began, haha. See the patio tables where they belong? Mom and Dad came over to try the beer cakes and see our living room. Isn't the little one so cute? She acts like she is one of the gang!

Top it off with the $5 living room stand and some gorgeous sunflowers we picked up today! Red, I've never seen that before!
